- The Lead: Assumption forward Nick Fenuccio (Keene, N.H./Richmond Generals (MJHL)) scored the lone goal lead the Hounds to a 1-1 tie with Johnson and Wales in a non-conference match up on Tuesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After no scoring through the first period, forward Nick Fenuccio (Keene, N.H./Richmond Generals (MJHL)) netted a five-hole goal off a pass from Paul Amarone (Hamden, Conn./Trinity- Pawling (Prep)) at 13:30.
- Johnson and Wales answered with a goal when Logan Fortier and Kevin McDonald set up forward Conor Bates for the game-tying goal with 4:18 remaining in the second period.
- Hound goaltender David Zulauf (Rochester, MI/ Bridgton Academy (Prep)) and Wildcat goaltender Joey Ballmer shut out the opposing offenses throughout the third period and a five-minute overtime, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Assumption edged Johnson and Wales in shots 33-29, and both teams went 0 for 3 on power play oppurtunities.
- Zulauf made 28 saves in his collegiate debut to earn the draw, while Ballmer made 32 for the Wildcats.
