The Lead: Dante Tomassini (North Branford, Conn/ Connecticut Jr. Wolfpack (EHL)) scored the first goal of the game for the Hounds but Worcester State rallied to score four unanswered goals to win 4-1 on Tuesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first period was scoreless for both sides with the Hounds edging the Lancers in shots 14-7.
- Just 3:39 into the second Dante Tomassini (North Branford, Conn/ Connecticut Jr. Wolfpack (EHL)) scored from the point on the powerplay with assists from Brian Farrell (Island Park, N.Y. / South Kent School (USPHL U18)) and Mike Sorenti (Sagamore Beach, Mass./Archbishop Williams (MA HS)) to put the Hounds up 1-0.
- The Lancers answered with two goals within three minutes of eachother by Connor McKenzie and Nick Patullo to take the lead 2-1 at the end of the second period.
- In the third period McKenzie tallied his second goal of the night on the power play with an assist Patullo.
- Worcester State ended the game on an empty net goal by Andy DeAngelis assisted by Alex Taddeo and Alex Pmmerville.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Lancers out shot the Hounds 31-30 and went 1 for 3 on the power play while the Hounds went 1 for 5.
- Robbie Campbell (Raritan, N.J. New England Stars (NA3EHL)) made 27 saves in his collegiate debut taking the loss while Josh Reinstein made 29 saves in the win.
