THE BASICS

- The Lead: A penalty stroke by Andrea Koslowski (Warren, Mass. / Quaboag Regional) and a late goal by Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn. / Haddam-Killingworth) sealed the win for the Hounds over Bentley.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Early into the first half the Hounds put on a great daeal of offensive pressure in the shooting circle, eventually earning a penalty stroke after a shot was blocked behind the goaltender by a Falcon defender.
- Koslowski was able to convert on the penalty stroke by placing the ball low in the left corner of the goal.
- The Hounds defense played strong, led by Hayley Martinez (San Jose, Calif. / Branham), who broke up many of the Falcons offensive chances.
- In the 65th minute Sheahan scored a goal off of a corner play with an assist from Ashley Lockwood (Feeding Hills, Mass. / Agawam)
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Hound defense shut out the Falcons offense completely and in the second half they only allowed two shots in the second half. Bridget Boyle (Stow, Mass. / Nashoba) had two saves on the night to record her first shutout of the season.
- Falcon goaltenders Evelyn Schaedel and Jana Mones split time in the cage and recorded 10 saves total
- Assumption produced 17 shots and eight penalty corners, while two of the corners immediately preceded Hounds goals.
