The Lead: No. 17 Adelphi jumped out a 2-0 lead in the first half but Assumption kept the Panthers off the board in the second half as the visitors fell to 2-1 in conference play on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Adelphi's Caelan Hueber was the only goal scorer in tonight's game. He scored his first goal in the 18th minute on a cross from James Thristino and then scored his second goal in the 25th minute with Joseph Sanchez and Matt Giaconelli earning assists.
- The Hounds couldn't manage any shots in the first half, but in the final 45 minutes, Ethan Morrow (Huntington Beach, Calif./Fountain Valley), Connor Henry (Northborough, Mass./ Algonquin Regional) , and Simon Trcka (Prague, Czech Republic/ Thornton Academy) all put shots toward net.
BEHIND THE NUMBERS:
- Brian Murray (Camas, Wash./ Camas) recorded four saves in the loss, while Adelphi goalkeeper Spenser Powell made one save in the win.
- Adelphi had 17 shots in the game while Assumption had four. The Hound offense actually had five corner kicks while the Panthers only had three.
