THE BASICS:

- Score: Saint Anselm 1,  Assumption 0 (2 OT)

- Records: Assumption (0-2); Saint Anselm (2-1)

- Location: Worcester, Mass. (Multi-Purpose Stadium)

 - The Lead: With no score in regulation, both teams played a very defensive game until the middle of the second overtime when Saint Anselm freshman Michelle Lemelin scored by tipping in junior Mia Vecchione's reverse sweep off of a corner.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The two teams played a scoreless first half with the Hawks outshooting the Hounds 11-1. The visitors kept it up in the second half with a 18-4 advantage in shots.

- With 7:14 left in the first overtime, the Hawks thought they scored the game winning goal but it was overturned by the referees. Assumption had a chance to win it as well, but Meghan Sullivan (Worcester, Mass./ Notre Dame Academy) was stopped on a one-timer in front of the net.

- The Hounds defended 16 penalty corners, and on the 17th penalty corner they finally broke through as Lemelin netted her first collegiate goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-The Hounds goaltender sophomore Sarah Bodzinski (Southwick, Mass./ Southwick Tolland) played very aggressive throughout the entire game recording 18 saves. Bodzinski stopped multiple 1-on-1 situations to force overtime for the Hounds.

-St Anselm's offense was lead by junior Emma Kincaid with seven shots and junior Allia Connolly with six shots. Overall the Hawks produced 39 shots in the game. 

-The Hounds' offense was lead by  Sullivan who tallied three shots on net while forwards Meagan Eccleston (Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass./Danvers) and Allison Sheahan (Higganum,Conn./ Haddam-Killingworth) recorded one shot a piece.

- Besides outstanding goaltending by Bodzinski, Hounds defensemen Andrea Koslowski (Warren, Mass./Quaboag Regional) and Gina Burton (Sherborn, Mass./ Dover-Sherborn) added crucial defensive saves.
