THE BASICS:

The Lead: Assumption trailed by 17 points entering the fourth quarter, but outscored Pace 31-8 in the final ten minutes to come all the way back and capture an impressive 67-61 victory on the road Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Pace came out firing, opening the game on a 17-2 run to force an Assumption timeout at 4:48. The Hounds cut the deficit to ten on baskets by Abby McKanna (Narragansett, R.I. / Narragansett) and Allison Stoddard (East Lyme, Conn. / East Lyme), before the Setters finished with the last four points of the period for a 21-7 lead.

- The Hounds managed to close the contest to 26-13 on a triple from Kelly Carey (Long Beach, N.Y. / Holy Trinity) at 5:27, but Pace went on an 11-5 run to push its lead to 37-18, before eventually extending it to 41-21 with just 53 seconds left in the half. A three-point play by Jo Impellizeri (Seaford, N.Y. / St. Anthony's) left the visitors down 17, 41-17, at the half.

- The Setters stretched their lead to 21 points early in the third. Assumption was able to cut the deficit as low as 15, but still went into the fourth down 53-36.

- Assumption opened the fourth quarter on a 16-2 to cut the deficit to 55-52 following three straight points from Morgan O'Donnell (Easton, Mass. / Ursuline Academy) and a Jaclyn Storey (Cumberland, Maine / Greely) layup at 4:52. Pace ended the run 18 seconds later, but an Impellizeri free throw with 3:14 left trimmed it to 59-56.

- The Hounds tied it up at 59 apiece on another Impellizeri free throw two minutes later, while also getting a pair of big defensive stops. O'Donnell then gave Assumption a 61-59 advantage with only 47 seconds remaining and the Hounds were able to force a miss on the defensive end. Pace was forced to foul and Stoddard finished 4-for-4 from the line in the last 30 seconds while Carey made two as well to escape with the six-point win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Assumption shot 45.7 percent from the floor and 35.7 percent from three, but were only 20 of 33 from the charity stripe. Pace made 46.2 of its field goal attempts but was just 4-for-14 from downtown.

- The Setters held a 28-26 rebounding edge, but the Hounds forced them into 17 turnovers while only committing nine. Assumption's bench also outscored Pace 25-0.

- Impellizeri scored a team-high 19 points, including nine in the fourth, to go with seven rebounds and four assists. Carey added 13 points, two rebounds and two assists.

- O'Donnell came off the bench to supply 12 points, five rebounds and two assists while Stoddard had eight points, three steals and two assists.

- Alexandra Monteleone led Pace with 23 points while Jaclyn Oskam had 16 points and five rebounds.

- The win was the Hounds' fourth straight and their 12th in the past 13 contests.
