THE BASICS:

-Score: Assumption 6, American International 0

-Records: Assumption (6-6, 4-3 NE10), American International (2-10, 2-5 NE10)

-Location: Worcester, Mass. (Multi-Sport Stadium)

-The Lead: Senior Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn. /Haddam-Killingworth) registered a hat trick, while the defense only gave up two shots as the Hounds defeated American International 6-0 on Saturday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Hounds took a 2-0 lead early into the first half. Freshman Shannon Quinlan (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville North) scored the first goal off a reverse sweep at 29:55 and then 1:04 later Sheahan scored from the right side to extend the lead 2-0. 

- In the 17th minute, Shehan scored her second goal of the game once again from the left side to take the 3-0 lead. Just 6:51 later, Assumption was awarded a penalty corner in which senior Lyndsey Gabrielian (Auburn, Mass./Auburn) took a shot and Belle Ives (Topsfield, Mass.Masconomet Regional) tipped it in to end the first half with a four-goal lead. 

- With 24:02 left in the second half Sheahan registered her third goal of the game off a tip from Molly Quinlan (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) to score the fifth goal of the game. 

- The sixth and final goal of the game happened with 7:26 left in the half when S. Quinlan set up M. Quinlan for an open shot to end the game 6-0.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Assumption outshot American Internation 32-2 and had five more penalty corners. 

- Hounds goaltender Sarah Bodzinski (Southwick, Mass./ Southwick Tolland Regional) recorded a shutout while Alexis Torosian made 12 saves in the loss.
