THE BASICS:

- Score: Adelphi 4, Assumption 1

- Records: Adelphi (9-0-1, 7-0 NE10), Assumption (4-7, 2-5 NE10)

- Location: Worcester, Mass. (Multi-Sport Stadium)

- The Lead: Assumption was tied up with No. 2 Adelphi at one apiece through 15 minutes of action, but the Panthers added two more goals in the final 30 minutes of the half and another in the second half on the way to a 4-1 victory on the road Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Adelphi got on the board at 4:59 on a free kick by Toni Soler. Kicking from near side of the field, he sent ball 30 yards to the far post, where it ricocheted off the post and into the net.

- In the 13th minute, Assumption answered back to tie the contest 1-1. Simon Trcka (Prague, Czech Republic / Thornton Academy) collected the ball on the wing near the corner of the 18 and sent the ball into the center of the six, where Kevin Hernandez (San Juan, P.R. / Colegio San Jose) was able to get it past the goalie.

- The Panthers took back the lead just over four minutes later on a through ball that slipped past the defense into the six for Andre De Giorgi. Adelphi added a goal in the 34th minute for a 3-1 advantage through 45 minutes.

- Adelphi added one more goal in the 80th minute for the 4-1 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Adelphi held a 23-7 edge in shots and accumulated five more corner kicks (8-3). Hernandez's goal for Assumption was the first of his collegiate career.

- Brian Murray (Camas, Wash. / Camas) took the loss in net as he stopped seven shots in the loss. Raymond Leto, meanwhile, earned the win as he made one save in net.
