HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first and second goal came within seconds of each other, both from Deirdre Burchill (Braintree, Mass./Braintree) off an assist by Sam Tepper (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg). For the first goal, Tepper sent a rifling pass in toward the net where Burchill was able to get a stick on it and tip the ball around the goalie for the Hounds to take a 1-0 lead. Just 24 seconds later, the duo does it again to stretch their lead to 2-0.
- Just three minutes later, the Hounds scored again with a great burst of energy by Shannon Quinlan (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsville North) who took the ball into the goalie and then received the rebound off her own shot to then send a shot past the goalie and earn her second goal of the season.
- The Owls did not give up and answered right before the end of the half with a goal by Chloe Knight. Knight received the pass from Jacqueline Touzos on the right side of the cage and then Knight shot to the left of the cage to earn their only goal.
- The final goal of the game came off a cross by Lucy Malia (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) from the right side of the field and Jennifer Beardsley (Essex, Mass./Manchester Essex Regional) dove to the left post to be able to get her stick on the ball and deflect the shot into the back of the cage, which gave the Hounds the 4-0 win.
