Lead: Senior forward Mike Sorenti (Sagamore Beach, Mass./ Archbisop Williams (MA HS)) scored the lone Hound goal with 5:26 left in the third period, as the Assumption College ice hocey team lost to Stonehill 4-1 in their final NE10 regular season contest on Saturday night. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Just 6:39 into the first period Stonehill forward Jack Hall scored assisted by Ryan Smith and Shamus Maloney to take the 1-0 lead. The Skyhawks followed up with a second goal with 1:24 left in the period to extend the lead to 2-0. Christopher Page beat David Zulauf (Rochester, MI./ Bridgton Academy (Prep)) off assists from Zachary Frament and Logan Stark.

- The teams were held scoreless throughout the second period. In the third period Stonehill struck again as Hall netted his second of night from Smith at 8:26.

- With 5:26 left, the Hounds tallied their first goal of the game from senior Mike Sorenti (Sagamore Beach, Mass./ Archbisop Williams (MA HS)) to cut the deficit to 3-1 but it was not enough as the Skyhawk forward Kyle Woodruff answered with an empty net goal to end the game 4-1. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Assumption out shot Stonehill 41-37 and neither team scored on the power play as the Hounds had their five-game win streak snapped.

- Zulauf made 33 saves in the loss while Skyhawk goaltender Billy Palmer made 40 saves in the win.
