- The Lead: The Assumption Greyhounds got back on track Saturday evening, shutting out a tough Saint Rose Golden Knights team and winning 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-Sebastian Jimenez (Naples, Fla. / Gulf Coast High School) made eight saves, including six in the first half that largely led to the shutout. His team received goals Juan O'Neill (Guaynabo, P.R. / Colegio San Ignacio) and Jason Lages (Edgartown, Mass. / Martha's Vineyard Regional) as part of a strong second half for the Hounds that helped propel them to victory.

-O'Neill scored first for the Hounds at the 61:53 mark. Teammate Andrew Jayyosi (Upton, Mass. / Nipmuc Regional) stole an inbounding ball off a goal kick. He took it down the right side and sent it out front to Jeremy Martin (Hopedale, Mass. / Hopedale), who gave the ball a nice soft touch back to O'Neill, who then sent the ball flying into the top corner for the 1-0 lead.

-Lages then added an insurance goal at the 65:41 mark, just 3:48 after O'Neill's tally. Lages scored as part of a nice rally up field for the Hounds. Sergio Zacarias (Billerica, Mass. / Billerica Memorial) began the possession with a nice through ball Connor Willis (North Andover, Mass. / North Andover). Willis, while running up field alongside Lages, kicked it out front to him and Lages put it into the back of the net for the 2-0 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-Saint Rose held a 16-15 advantage in shots despite the Hounds outshooting them 12-8 in the second half. Lages led the team with four shots on net. Both teams produced five corner kicks.

-O'Neill's goal was the first of his collegiate career. The sophomore has been a large part of the team's offensive attack the last two years however, producing four assists on his career in 19 games. Lages' goal also give him six this season and 29 in his career, putting him third all-time goals and fourth in points.

-Jimenez made eight saves and improved to 6-4-0 on the year. The win also moved him into a tie for fifth place in most career wins by a goalkeeper. Ryan Henning made five saves for the Golden Knights but fell to 8-3-1.
