THE BASICS:

- The Lead: Kevin Hernandez (San Juan, P.R. / Colegio San Jose) scored midway through the first on a penalty kick and the Assumption Greyhounds defense did the rest, holding the Stonehill Skyhawks without a shot on goal and winning 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Hounds have now won four straight.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-Hernandez was fouled inside the box at the 31:18 mark. He scored on the kick to put the Hounds up 1-0.

-Assumption's defense did the rest. They held the Skyhawks to just five shots and none on goal. Stonehill had two shots and one corner within the final five minutes of play, but the Hounds turned aside each opportunity. They force the corner wide thanks to a header and both kicks wide by applying pressure in the box to keep the Skyhawks off the board.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-The Hounds held a 12-5 shot advantage, producing six shots in each half. They also held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks, producing four in the first half and three in the second half.

-Sebastian Jimenez (Naples, Fla. / Gulf Coast High School) did not need to make a save, but earned his second shutout of the season, improving to 4-1-0 on the year. He has allowed an average of only one goal per game and has allowed only one goal in his last 306:24 minutes of play.

-Hernandez has now scored in back-to-back games. In his team's 2-1 win over Southern Conn. St., Hernandez tied the game at one within the final 10 minutes of play.

-Assumption has now won four straight and have not lost since their season opener against No. 24 Mercy, who have since moved up to No. 12. It is the second most consecutive amount of wins in the program's history.
