-The Lead: The Assumption University Men's soccer team continued their 2021 season on Saturday afternoon on the road in an NE10 matchup at Saint Rose. The Knights scored two goals early in the first half and added two more in the second to create the 4-0 final.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Saint Rose started the scoring just 12 minutes in when Hilmar Halldorsson took a pass from Nico Farreta and put it in the back of the net for the early lead.
-The Knights scored nine minutes later on a penalty kick when Nick Koenig stepped up to the spot and buried a shot past Tony Abdulky (Worcester, Mass. / Doherty) for the 2-0 lead for the hosts.
-Josh Elliot was the next to score when he took a pass from Koenig and took a shot inside the 18 yard box and banked it off the right post and in.
-Oskar Aastroem scored in the 68th minute off a volley to give the hosts a 4-0 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-The Hounds took 12 shots on the day with three on goal while Saint Rose registered 20 shots with eight on goal.
-Tony Abdulky made three saves on the day while Tomas Rozman made three.
-Assumption took six corner kicks while Saint Rose took four.
