Box Score THE BASICS

-The Lead: The NO. 4 nationally ranked women's field hockey team cruised to a 9-0 victory in Northeast-10 Conference action over Molloy on Saturday afternoon. The Hounds dominated all facets of the game keeping possession for the entierty of the game while allowing one shot. The Hounds scored four goals in the first half and five more in the second led by a Deidre Burchill hat trick to secure the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The NO. 4 nationally ranked Hounds got on the score sheet early when Deirde Burchill (Braintree, Mass. / Braintree) scored on a pass from classmate Isabel Primack (Ipswich, Mass. / Ipswich) to put the hosts up early.
-Mia Salah (Gloucester, Mass. / Gloucester) was next on the score sheet when she scored with five minutes left in the first on a pass from McKenzie Patterson (Conway, Mass. / Frontier Regional)
-Burchill scored her second of the game when she took a pass from Salah off the penalty corner and fired it by the Molloy goalie to make the score 3-0
-Burchill completed the hat trick with two minutes to go to put the Hounds up 4-0 going in the to the half.
-Assumption came out of the locker room strong and used another corner to scored when Kileigh Hynes ( Auburn, Mass. / Auburn) found classmate Shannon Quinlan (Buffalo, N.Y. / Williamsville North) with a pass and Quinlan was able to put it past the Lions defense and goalie to make the score 5-0.
-The Hounds scored again off a corner when senior Jenna Graf (Ballston Lake, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) found Primack with a pass and she put the shot in the back of the net to put the Hounds up 6-0.
-Summer Walsh (South Yarmouth, Mass. / Dennis-Yarmouth Regional) found the back of the net off another corner when she took the initial corner and got the ball back from the defense and put her shot into the back of the net.
-Hynes was the next hound to score when she scored off yet another Assumption corner to push the lead to 8-0.
-Summer Walsh scored her second of the day when she took another corner penalty finding Hynes with the pass and took the pass back from Hynes and buried her shot to create the 9-0 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Assumption registered 19 shots (17 shots on goal ) on the day while Molloy had one shot on goal.
-Senior goalie Kylie Gargiulo made one save on the day while Ally Saigh made eight saves for the Lions.
-The Hounds won 14 penalty corners while Molloy took none.
