The Ravens came out of the gate strong and scored four goals in the first half with Assumption getting one back before halftime. The second half was a fast and physical battle with strong play in the midfield and numerous opportunities created for both sides.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Franklin Pierce wasted no time and scored 30 seconds into the game  when the Hounds failed to clear the ball from their box and the ball fell to Aaron Acevedo Artes who hit it on the volley past freshman goaltender Francisco Texeira (Sao Paolo, Brazil, Vera Cruz)

-The Ravens tacked on another ten minutes later when they worked the ball on the right side and Pedro Juan Vicente tucked a shot into the upper left corner to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

-Franklin Pierce, relentless in their attack scored another goal six minutes later when the Ravens won a free kick and it was swung in by senior Marco Valero and found the head of Alan Keough who clipped the right post and found the back of the net for a 3-0 lead.

-The Ravens padded on to their lead in the 18th minute when the Ravens slipped a through ball right through the Hounds defense and graduate student Jona Cervera Anchel sped through the defense on the left side and fired a shot of the right post and into the back of the net to give Franklin Pierce a 4-0 lead.

-The Hounds responded with 8 minutes left when they won a free kick and the Ravens goalie was sent off with a red card. Senior Kevin Hernandez (San Juan, Puerto Rico,Colegio San Jose)  immediately tested the replacement, junior Kosta Maniatis and Hernandez buried the free kick low and to the left into the back of the net to make the game 4-1.

-The Ravens played the rest of the game with 10 men and still kept the possession and pressure on Assumption and the Hounds could not solve the solid midfield and defensive play of the Ravens.
