HOW IT HAPPENED
-Assumption got on the board first with a goal on their first corner of the game just over six minutes into play. Isabel Primack (Ipswich, Mass. / Ipswich) took the initial shot that was blocked by STAC goalkeeper, Jessie Hohenstein. Summer Walsh (South Yarmouth, Mass. / Dennis-Yarmouth Regional) picked the ball up off the pads of Hohenstein and found her classmate, Deirdre Burchill (Braintree, Mass. / Braintree) on the right post who swept it in for the 1-0 lead.
-The Spartans tied the game up with five minutes to go in the first period. They were awarded a penalty corner and Haley Galison inserted the ball up to Olivia Cerbo at the top of the circle who passed it to Lauren Cooper off her left shoulder. Cerbo fired a shot in over the left foot of Assumption goalkeeper, Kylie Gargiulo (Madison, Conn. / Daniel Hand) to tie the game, 1-1.
-The second half was scoreless, and neither team was able to get a shot off. The two teams were evenly matched through the first 30 minutes, both putting up two shots.

Kileigh Hynes (Auburn, Mass. / Auburn) fired the ball in from outside the circle and first year Christina Leonard (Marlborough, Mass. / Marlborough) was posted up in front of Hohenstein's pads and redirected the ball over her right foot for the 2-1 lead and final victory.
