THE BASICS

-Score: Bentley University 48, Assumption University 23

-Records: Assumption University (5-5) (5-3 NE10), Bentley University (9-1) (7-1 NE10) 

-Location: Waltham, Mass. 

-The Lead:  The Assumption University football team concluded their season on Saturday afternoon with a NE10 matchup vs Bentley. The Hounds took the lead early but Bentley responded in the second quarter with 21 unanswered points in the second quarter to put the Falcons up 21-10 heading into halftime. The second half was all Falcons as they put up 27 points while the Hounds put up two scored in the final minutes to create the 48-23 final. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Patrick May started the scoring for the Hounds when he convereted a 23 yard field goal attempt on Assumptions first drive of the game. 

-Bentley responded with a score in the second quarter when Stephen Sturm found Andrew Brazicki with a 28 yard touchdown pass to give Bentley the lead. 

-Assumption was able to respond when Khaleed Exum-Strong ( capped off a long drive for the Hounds, rushing for a one yard touchdown to give the visitors the 10-7 lead. 

-Bentley immediately responded when Austin Ryan caught a 30 yard touchdown pass from Sturm to give the Falcons a 14-10 lead.

-The hosts were able to get some breathing room before halftime when Sturm threw another touchdown pass, this time finding Noah Neville for a 20 yard score.

-The Falcons came out of halftime in a hurry, using a defensive interception to force a turnover and then using one play,  a 16 yard touchdown run from Brazicki to push their lead to 28-10. 

-The Falcons again used strong defense and got another interception, and Sturm converted on the change of possession when he completed a 36 yard touchdown run to give Bentley a 34-10 lead. 

-Sturm struck again when he found Austin Ryan with a 35 yard touchdown reception to push the Falcons lead to 41-10. 

-Isaiah Collins scored the final points for Bentley at the start of the fourth quarter when he rushed 9 yards for a touchdown.

-Assumption was able to find their scoring touch again when senior quarterback Steven Bucciaglia (Shrewsbury, Mass. / St. John's) found junior tight end John Murmes-Jarosz (Needham Heights, Mass. / Needham) with a 14 yard touchdown pass to get the Hounds back on the board. 

-The Hounds scored with six seconds left in the game when Bucciaglia and Murmes-Jarosz connected again when Bucciaglia hit Murmes-Jaroz with a eight yard touchdown pass to create the 48-23 final. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

-The Hounds had 363 yards of total offense on the day (130 passing, 233 rushing) opposed to Bentley's 467 total yards (239 passing, 228 rushing)

-Exum-Strong led the Hounds on the ground with 18 rushes for 116 yards and one touchdown. While in the air Murmes-Jarosz had three receptions for 47 yards and two touchdowns and Brevin Easton had three receptions for 39 yards. 

-Defensively for the Hounds Keelan Bourget (2 solo, 5 assists), Anthony Laramee (4 solo, 3 assists) andCullen McCarty (2 solo, 5 assists) all had seven tackles for the Hounds.
