-The Lead: The Assumption University women's basketball team continued their 2021-22 season with their first Northeast-10 conference road contest at SNHU. The Hounds led the entire game including 40-22 going into halftime.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Marina Callahan (Burlington, Mass. / Burlington) made the first three pointer of the game to open the scoring for the Hounds, who made four three pointers, two from Emme Poulin (South Portland, Maine / Cheverus High School) and two from Callahan in the first quarter to give the Hounds a 21-9 lead going into the second stanza.
-The Hounds went on a 7-0 run to start the second quarter and outscored the Penmen 19-13 lead by Meghan Cramb (New Boston, N.H. / Bishop Guertin) who had 14 of those points to go into the half up 40-22.
-In the third quarter,Poulin scored five points and Caterina Fonseca (Enfield, Conn. / Enfield High School) came off the bench and put up five points going three for four from the line and hitting a jumper. After the third, the Hounds led 57-38.
-The two teams traded scores for the most of the fourth, but the Hounds kept their pressure with Poulin dropping two more three points to secure the Hounds victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Cramb and Poulin led the Hounds in scoring with 19 on the night. While Gyanna Russell paced SNHU with 13.
-Assumption outrebounded SNHU 45-41.
-The Hounds were 23-54 (42.6%) shooting on the night while going 10-20 (50%) from behind the arc.
-Monica Spain (Braintree, Mass. / Archbishop Williams) dished out six assists while Anna Shaughnessy (Attleboro Falls, Mass. / Bishop Feehan) grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Hounds.

-Assumption travels to Bloomfield, N.J. on Saturday, November 20th to face off in a non-conference matchup with Bloomfield College. Tip-off is set for 1:00pm.
