THE BASICS

-The Lead: The Assumption University Men's Hockey team continued their season on Friday night with a non-conference matchup down the road vs the Amcats of Anna Maria. The first period was a back and forth battle with both teams putting up two goals a piece. After a scoreless second, Assumption found the game winner with just around 10 minutes to go in the third to secure the victory for the Hounds. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Colin Phillipon (Salem, N.H. / Valley Junior Warriors) opened the scoring for the Hounds with a unassisted powerplay goal just eight minutes into the game. 

-Anna Maria answered  a minute later tying the game on a Drew Goupille goal set up by Colby Wolter and Quinn Tucker. 

-The Amcats took the lead just three minutes later when senior Jack Sitzman scored on a pass from classmate Sam Cyr-Ledoux.

-Assumption responded to tie the game with five minutes left in the first when Phillipon scored his second of the game on a play set up by seniors John Pigott (Arlington, Mass. / Tilton School) and Dante Maribito (Georgetown, Mass. / Phillips Academy)

-Sophmore defender Camron Roberts (Old Lyme, Conn. / Valley Junior Warriors) scored the game winner for the Hounds with just around ten minutes left to go in the game to secure the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

-Assumption outshout the Amcats 37-20, with Robert Holyoke and Colin Phillipon registering six shots each. 

-The Hounds won 41 out of 74 faceoffs while the Amcats won 33 of them. 

-Drew Benedict made 18 saves on the evening while Julius Huset made 34. 

UP NEXT

-The Hounds hit the road on Saturday, November 20 to face off with Saint Michaels College in South Burlington, Vermont for an NE10 conference matchup.
