-The Lead: The Assumption University women's basketball team continued their 2021-22 season with a Northeast 10 conference matchup at home vs the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University. The Hounds couldn't solve the tight press and were down 41-23 headed into the half. The Ravens kept the pressure and the Hounds were not able to overcome the first half deficit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Emme Poulin (South Portland, Maine / Cheverus High School) hit a three to give the Hounds their only lead of the day with just over a minute played in the first quarter. The Ravens had nine steals in the first quarter to help give them a 28-9 lead.
-In the second quarter, Anna Shaughnessy (Attleboro Falls, Mass. / Bishop Feehan) led the Hounds with four points. While in the third quarter, Meghan Cramb (New Boston, N.H. / Bishop Guertin) scored seven and in the fourth, Lauren Hammersley (Garden City, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy Academy) scored six points coming from a pair of three pointers.
-Anna Davis (Ipswich, Mass. / Proctor Academy) paced the Hounds offense putting up a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebound (four offensive, eight defensive), while Lisa Sulejmani led the Ravens with 20 points, five assists and six steals.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-Assumption outrebounded the Ravens 36-31.
-The Hounds bench scored 40 points while the Ravens reserves put up 19.
-Assumption went 25-66 (37.9%) from the floor on the night, while the Ravens went 28-61 (45.9%)
