MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team comes up short on the road, as the Greyhounds fall to Saint Anselm, 5-2, in Northeast-10 conference action, Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Anselm started fast, as they would strike in the opening two minutes, as Alec Grace found the back of the net. The Hawks would cap off the first period with another score at the 7:00-minute marker. Saint Anselm continued to expand their lead, as they tacked on two more scores in the middle frame and would head into the third period up 4-0.
Assumption got on the board early in the third period, as Thomas McGaffigan found the back of the net at the 6:52 mark. With just under five minutes remaining in regulation,
Colin Philippon got the Greyhounds within two with his fourth goal of the year. The hosts would halt the Assumption comeback, as Tommy Schwartz added an empty net with 1:26 showing on the clock.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Drew Benedict and Thomas McLarnon combined to register 22 saves.
- Assumption outshot Saint Anselm 41-27, while the Hawks won 36-of-68 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds were 0-for-6 on the man advantage, while the Hawks went 1-for-2.
