WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University football team's historic season comes to an end, as they fell to No. 20 Slippery Rock University, 17-14, in the First Round of the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs, Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.
THE BASICS

Records: Greyhounds (8-3, 7-1 NE10) | The Rock (10-2, 6-1 PSAC)
Jake Cady tallied 158 yards of offense to lead Assumption, as the senior signal caller went 9-for-13 through the air for 92 yards and tossed one touchdown while racking up 66 yards on the ground.
Berrell Neal was lead back on the ground, recording 50 yards on 16 carries and a score.
Quinn Sieger was the top option through the air for Assumption, as he had three receptions for 19 yards and a score, while Connor Milks had two catches for 41 yards.
Defensively,
Jael Feliz had a game-high 11 tackles, while Isaac Hadac and
Lorenzo Valencia recorded eight tackles and a sack.
Isaiah Huff leads the defensive backs with three pass breakups.
Nick Chodack went 2-for-2 on extra points.
Gabriel Bertolazzo launched three punts for 106 yards, which included a 46-yard punt.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Assumption held Slippery Rock to 98 yards on the ground today, which is the eighth time this season holding their opponents to under 100 yards rushing.
- SRU went 3-for-3 in the red zone, while AU went 2-for-3.
- Huff returned three kickoffs for 72 yards, including a long of 26 yards.
- Slippery Rock leads the all-time series 2-0
