WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team fell to Division I Long Island University, 5-1 in non-conference action Saturday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Long Island University started strong, as they opened the scoring 42 seconds into the contest. Five minutes later, the Sharks doubled their lead with a goal at the 5:02 marker. LIU would add two scores in the middle frame and head into the third period up 4-0.
Assumption got on the board halfway through the period, as
Camron Roberts fired a shot from the point that snuck through a screen and beat the LIU netminder. Long Island added one more score to bring the final to 5-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Thomas McLarnon recorded a career-high 53 saves.
- Ryan Decker and Sean O'Connell tallied assists on the evening.
- LIU outshot Assumption 58-15, while the Sharks won 36-of-55 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds were 0-for-1 on the man advantage, while LIU went 2-for-5.
