WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's volleyball team closes out the season, as they dropped their senior day match to American International College, 3-0, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption opened up the match on a 5-1 run, but that was quickly thwarted, as AIC took ten of the next 11 points. The Yellow Jackets continued to be aggressive, as they went on to win the first set 25-13.
The Greyhounds once again started fast, as they snagged an early 4-2 lead. American International continue to show why they are the reigning NE10 champions, as they picked up a 25-13 win in the second set.
The Yellow Jackets were able to cruise to the three-set sweep, as they went up 13-5, but a late run by Assumption came up short, giving AIC the 25-19.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Anna Dean led the way for the Greyhounds with nine kills while adding three digs.
- Kyra Belden paced the Blue and White offense with nine assists.
- Barbara Illig had six digs.
- Prior to the match, the Assumption Athletic Department honor Kyra Belden, Lauryn Coelho, and Maggie McHale.
- AIC continues to lead the all-time series 53-5.
