BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Anthony Spignese (Danvers, Mass.) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships to headline a list of strong performances by the Assumption University men's track & field team at Boston University's Valentine Invitational.
Spignese placed 11th overall in the 200-meter dash by navigating the track in 21.56 seconds. His provisional mark in the event also ranks 25th nationally.
The Greyhounds had several other sprinters register collegiate-best times in their respective events, which included a pair of individuals accomplish the feat in multiple races. Junior Martin McMahon (Worcester, Vt.) punched in times of 7.44 and 23.54 in the 60 and 200, while freshman Eli Harmon (Charlton, Mass.) finished the 200 in 23.31 and the 400 in 52.27.
Assumption will next head to the Reggie Lewis Center to compete at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships which begin on Thursday, Feb. 24th.
