-The Lead: The Assumption University men's ice hockey team continued their season on Friday afternoon with their second game in a row versus Franklin Pierce. The score was level at one a piece after one period but the Ravens added a goal in the second and an empty netter in the third to defeat the Hounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Ravens opened the scoring with five minutes left in the first when Chris Stevenson scored on an assist from Cody Rumsey.
-The Hounds tied the game minutes later when Mike D'Ambrosio (Centreville, Md. / Boston Junior Bruins) finished his own rebound to tie the game at 1.
-The Ravens retook the lead with five minutes left in the second period when Dom Norris tipped a initial shot from Conor Foley past Drew Benedict (Cooper City, Fla. / Charlotte Rush) to give the hosts a 2-1 lead heading into the final frame.
-Chris Stevenson added his second of the game with under a minute left when he cleared the Pierce zone and sent the puck into the Hounds empty net to create the 3-1 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-The Hounds outshot the Ravens 48-24.
-The Ravens won the faceoff battle 39-29.
-Benedict made 21 saves for the Hounds while Ian Wallace made 47.
