THE BASICS

-Location: Briddgewater, Mass.  (Bridgewater Ice Arena)

-The Lead: The Assumption University men's ice hockey team continued their season on Monday evening with a Northeast 10 conference matchup verus the Skyhawks of Stonehill College. The Hounds got on the board first via the powerplay and put up three goals in the second and adding an insurance goal quickly in the third to skate away with the conference win.   

HOW IT HAPPENED

--Devan Sheth (Ashland, Mass. / Islanders Hockey Club) opened the scoring halfway through the first period via the powerplay to give the Hounds a 1-0 lead. 

-Alex Mavrogiannis (Dover, Mass. / East Coast Wizards) scored a minute into the second and Michael Zampanti (Winthrop, Mass. / Boston Junior Rangers) quickly added another to give the Hounds a 3-0 lead a minute into the second frame. 

-Stonehill got a goal back late in the second via the powerplay when Mike Seoane put the Skyhawks on the board. 

-Robert Holyoke (Middleboro, Mass. / South Shore Kings) scored with under a minute left in the second on the powerplay to push the Hounds lead to 4-1. 

- John Fine-Lease (Willsboro, N.Y. / Walpole Express) scored quickly to open the third period and put the Hounds up 5-1. 

-Seoane scored his second of the game, this time shorthanded to create the 5-2 final score.  

 INSIDE THE NUMBERS

-Assumption outshot the Skyhawks 32-26. .

-The Hounds won the faceoff battle 37-30. 

-Thomas McLarnon made 24 saves in net to push his record to 2-2.  

UP NEXT  

-The Hounds are back in action on Wednesday, February 23 with a home matchup versus Stonehill. Puck drop is set for 1:00pm.
