NORTH EASTON, Mass. – Senior Joseph Santos (Warwick, R.I.) lowered his school record in the 110-meter high hurdles to lead the Assumption University men's track & field team at the Skyhawk Invitational on Saturday afternoon in the program's final meet before the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
Santos won his premier event in a blistering 14.75 seconds, which bettered his previous program standard of 14.90 that he recorded at Merrimack on April 14th. Sophomore Dan Nimiroski (Richmond, R.I.), meanwhile, led four Greyhounds who were entered in the 5,000-meter run by crossing the line in 16:41.44, and freshman Eli Harmon (Charlton, Mass.) was seventh in the 400-meter dash in 52 seconds flat.
In the field, junior Anthony Farago (Salisbury, Mass.) won the javelin throw with a toss that sailed 158-feet, 1-inch. Senior Sam Baker (Bedford, Mass.) posted a pair of third-place finishes by registering marks of 40-6.25 in the long jump and 142-5 in the javelin throw.
Assumption will next head back to Stonehill to compete at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
