STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Ruben Faria recorded a goal and an assist as the Assumption University men's soccer team picked up a 2-0 win over the College of Staten Island Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption got the scoring started early, as
Ruben Faria's free kick from midfield beat the Dolphins' backline and found the left foot of Matt Dion, who redirected the pass into the top right corner of the cage. The Greyhounds doubled their lead in the 25
th minute, as Faria's indirect kick from the top of the box went into the lower right corner of the net.
Both sides had opportunities to score in the second half, but neither side would put the ball in the back of the net.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- George Dixon IV recorded two saves for his first collegiate complete-game shutout.
- Ruben Faria continues his point streak, as he has either assisted or scored every goal for the Greyhounds this year.
- Both sides fired 12 shots, but the Greyhounds had five go on target, while only two were on goal for the Dolphins.
- Assumption now leads the all-time series 1-0-0.
