HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption faced off against the University of Connecticut for the first time in history between the two schools. Francisco Teixeira made two quick saves about ten minutes in, keeping the Greyhounds in it. The home side controlled the first half's pace, firing in many shots, but most would not stay on target. Vegard Pernes got involved, firing a shot but it was blocked before it could get on frame. Neither team could capitalize on their chances at the half, and it was 0-0 at the break.

The second half began the same way as the first, with UConn controlling most of the tempo and possession while firing shots at Teixeira. On the night, Teixeira made ten saves. In the 68th minute, it was the Hounds with the breakthrough, as Daniel Paulsson slotted one bottom right off of an assist from Sam Cardoze and Vegard Pernes. The Huskies applied the pressure and made ten substitutions once the Greyhounds got on the board. With ten minutes left, Axel Gerremo committed a foul in the box, giving the Huskies a penalty kick. Adil Iggoute slotted it home, tying the game. That would be the last effort of the game, as the Huskies pressured until the end to get the winner. The game would end 1-1 and the Greyhounds and Huskies would share the points.
