HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started with the offense, as Haley Brown had a shot go wide left of the post. Ashley Wenzel tried one herself in the 30' minute, but this time, it traveled wide on the opposite side. Each team used lots of substitutions through the first half to rotate in new players and get new looks, but neither team was able to break the first-half deadlock. Things were still square at 0-0 at the end of the first half.
Queens had some offensive chances to start the second half, as Cassidy Pong and Julia Ragone both had shots miss right. Reagan Davis came up from defense with an effort in the 62' minute, but Erin Kelly saved it. With only ten minutes left to play, Jacklyn Diel broke the deadlock with a shot over Kaylah Seavey's head, giving the home side a 1-0 advantage. Assumption had ten minutes to respond, and they found their equalizer through substitute Kate Carleson, who buried a chance provided by Ashley Wenzel. With only one minute left, it would essentially be the game's last chance, as the Hounds tied the Knights 1-1.
