HOW IT HAPPENED
The two teams were aggressive in the early portion of the game, playing a high-action match in the earlier action. Assumption was the first team to get on the board, as Johannes Sundgot capitalized on the free kick just outside of the penalty area, and he curled the free kick into the top corner of the cage. Iago Perez answered for the Penmen, as he scored off the rebound of the save by Sjåvåg. Sundgot would put the Greyhounds back on top as he heel-flicked a cross by Andrew Jayyosi inside the near post for a 2-1 lead at 23:52. The Greyhounds would carry their 2-1 advantage into the break despite being outshot 8-6 in the opening 45 minutes.
Ten minutes into the second half, Vergard Pernes doubled the Assumption lead as he split a pair of Southern New Hampshire defenders and scored with a low drive to the bottom left corner of the cage. Five minutes later, Nicolas Gonzalez got the Penmen with one as he slipped a shot past Iver Sjåvåg to the near post. The Assumption defense would hold firm, as they held SNHU scoreless in the remaining 30 minutes to pick up a crucial 3-2 road win.
