HOW IT HAPPENED
Adelphi was aggressive in the early portion of the contest, as they were called offsides in the third minute before receiving a corner kick in the 12th minute. Despite the early pressure from the Panthers, Assumption was the first team to strike, as Peter Hasund converted on a set piece from right outside the box and drove it into the bottom right corner of the cage. The Greyhounds would remain in front despite being outshot 9-3 and Adelphi having all five corners in the opening 45 minutes.
The Panthers continued to press the Assumption backline but could not break through. Under nine minutes remaining in regulation, Johannes Sundgot was taken down in the box. He awarded a penalty kick, which he capitalized and drove it into the top left corner of the cage. With their backs against the wall, the Panthers fired four shots in the final seven minutes, and Iver Sjåvåg would stand tall and keep the hosts off the board. With 20 seconds remaining in regulation, Hasund struck again, scoring a goal from midfield, securing the Greyhounds' first win over Adelphi.
