HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Michael's controlled the game's pace in the early portion of the contest, as they would eventually get on the board in the 15th minute. Kayleigh Crowell intercepted a Greyhound pass and scored on a point-blank opportunity. The Purple Knights would carry the 1-0 lead into the break, as they outshot the hosts 6-4, while both sides had two corner kicks.
Â
In the second half, Assumption turned up the pressure. The Greyhounds would have five corners to three for the visitors while also outshooting them 11-7. Kate Carleson tied the game with just over ten minutes on the clock as she beat a triple-team and beat the SMC keeper to the far post. The Greyhounds would have a few more "grade-a" chances, including a Delaney Farinha low shot attempt on a break, but the Saint Michael's netminder made a standing save to keep the game tied.
