WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's hockey team saw their three-game winning streak end, as the Greyhounds fell to the College of Holy Cross 5-1 in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Holy Cross came out on the attack early as they came out shooting early. The Crusaders outshot the Greyhounds 10-6 in the opening 20 minutes. The Purple and White would get on the scoreboard at the 7:15 mark of the first period as Mackenzie King found the back of the net.
The Crusaders broke open the game early into the second, scoring a pair of goals in 1:12. Holy Cross' lead would grow to 4-0 just past the halfway mark of the middle frame as Alexia Moreau scored.
In the third period, Holy Cross would go up 5-0 before Assumption got on the board at the 14:04 marker. While on a 5-on-3 advantage, Ava McGaffigan scored off the feed from Jenna Chaplain.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Jadyn Weiner recorded 45 saves in the loss.
- Holy Cross outshot Assumption 50-26 while also winning 33-of-61 faceoffs.
- Both teams scored on the power play, as the Crusaders went 1-for-6, while the Greyhounds went 1-for-2
- Holy Cross now leads the all-time series 2-0.
