BOSTON, Mass. – February 14, 2023 – In what is likely the most exciting season across DII/III college hockey in many seasons,
Gridiron Club of Greater Boston president Cheryl Duddy-Schoenfeld announced today that 33 players are semifinalists for the 22
nd Joe Concannon Award, presented annually to the best American-born NCAA Division II/III hockey player in New England.
Senior
Colin Philippon leads the Greyhounds with 17 assists and 26 points, while ranks fifth with nine goals. He has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week once, while being named to the NE10 Honor Roll twice.
The Joe Concannon Award was established in 2001, shortly after the passing of the longtime writer for The Boston Globe, who had a great passion for the game of college hockey while always advocating strongly for amateur athletics. Philippon is joined by fellow Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) student-athletes: Conor Foley (Franklin Pierce), Nick Weber (Post), Matt Hayes (Saint Anselm), Jack Murphy (Saint Anselm), and Jeremy Routh (St. Michael's College).
