WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey continue to slide, as the Greyhounds dropped their fourth straight game following a 3-2 loss against Southern New Hampshire University Friday evening.
THE BASICS

Records: Greyhounds (15-13-1, 11-6-1 NE10), Penmen (9-16-0, 8-11-0 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption came out on the attack in the first period, as the Greyhounds fired 28 shots, but only eight made it to the netminder. Southern New Hampshire had their chances as well, as the visitors had three power plays in the frame but could not find the back of the net.
In the second period, the Penmen capitalized on the carry-over 5-on-3 power play, as Matt Amante beat the Assumption netminder. SNHU's lead would double minutes later as Andrew Ray found the back of the net. The Greyhounds would not go quietly, as with 3:36 showing on the clock,
William Smith buried the rebound off a
Mike D'Ambrosio shot from the point.
Southern New Hampshire would regain their two-goal advantage in the early portion of the third period, as Tim Usalis put the guests in front, 3-1. Once again, Assumption refused to quick, as
Colin Philippon scored off the Colin Montgomery assist with 7:51 left in regulation. The Greyhounds continued to press, as they were on the power play, with the goalie pulled, but they could not find the equalizer and fell 3-2.
