Fast Start by Baseball is not enough, as Assumption Falls 13-3

LAKELAND, Fla. – A fast start by the Assumption University baseball team was not enough, as the Greyhounds fell to Florida Southern College 13-3 in non-conference action Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Cody Smith led off the game with a solo homerun to left field. After Eric Giarnese was hit by a pitch, Emilio Acosta drove him in, as he pulled a two-run homerun to left field.
 
Florida Southern got on the board in the bottom of the first, as Connor Berry had an RBI single. The Mocs took their first lead in the third inning with a pair of homeruns, to go up 4-3. The hosts continued to add to their lead as they plated two in the fifth, three in the sixth, one in the seventh, and two more in the bottom of the eighth.
