MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team could not hold on late, as No. 10 nationally ranked Saint Anselm College rallied to record a 15-13 decision in Northeast-10 Conference action Tuesday evening at Grappone Stadium

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started fast, as they potted the first three goals of the game, as back-to-back goals from
Sam Maciel followed
Ryan Healey. Saint Anselm responded with authority, as they scored six-straight times to finish off the first quarter up 6-3.
The game would remain tight throughout the second quarter, as the two teams traded goals and sent the game into halftime, with the hosts holding on to a 10-7 advantage. Coming out of the break, the Greyhounds began to close the gap, as
Nolan Sheehan and Healey went back-to-back, cutting the deficit to a one-goal game (10-9), but the Hawks' Noah Larsen regained a two-goal advantage for the hosts. Sheehan closed out the third with a man-up tally, making it 11-10 Saint Anselm, as the game took a turn for home.
The Hounds continued to be aggressive on the offensive end, as Sheehan and Maciel went back-to-back to give Assumption their first lead since the opening minutes of the contest. The two teams traded the following two goals, as
Brady McNulty made it 13-12 Assumption, but Saint Anselm closed the game with three-straight tallies, including two within 35 seconds of one another. The Hawks would hold on to close out a 15-13 decision.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Collin Malone had 13 saves on the night for the Greyhounds.
- Sam Maciel and Ryan Healey recorded four goals and one assist.
- Jack Galvin had a game-high four caused turnovers, while Aidan Boyle and Cooper Joyal scooped up four ground balls.
- Saint Anselm outshot Assumption 53-37 while also winning 19-of-32 faceoffs.
