WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 16 Assumption University women's lacrosse team could not overcome a slow start, as they fell to No. 8 Le Moyne College in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Le Moyne completely controlled the first 15 minutes of action, going up 4-0 through dominant possessions of play and lots of saves from Paige Crandall in goal, who stopped the Greyhounds on multiple occasions.
The second quarter was a bit more even, as
Jenna Joseph got the Greyhounds on the board with 7:52 remaining in the quarter for her 19th goal on the season. The Dolphins attached three more before Assumption could get back-to-back goals, which came through
Molly Weiand and Joseph again with two minutes left in the half. The Dolphins tacked on one more to lead 9-3 at the break.
Finally, in the third quarter of action, the Greyhounds controlled most of the action, outsourcing the Dolphins 4-2. Joseph added two more to her impressive day, while
Claire Desilva and
Katelynn Johnston also got on the board.
It was a fourth back-and-forth period, with each team switching off on goal scorers. The Greyhounds pulled within four, but that was the closest they would get. Weiand grabbed two more while Johnston got another, as Le Moyne hung on to win 14-10.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Skylar Troyan recorded ten saves for Assumption.
- The Dolphins outshot the host 33-27, while the Greyhounds won the ground ball battle 23-21.
