GAME ONE – American International College 8, Assumption University 6

Eric Preston responded with a similar shot to left field to tie things up at 1-1.
Edvardsen continued his strong day in the second inning with an RBI single to left field, scoring Yeudy Ramirez. Josh Frometa lucked out with a fielding error following his single, and two runs came in to give the Yellow Jackets a 4-1 lead.
The bats for Assumption tried to keep them in the game when
Kevin Cox and
Jack Barry went back-to-back with solo homeruns to left field to get Assumption within one. AIC responded with two runs in the bottom of the third and homered in the sixth inning, opening up the game and forcing the
Hounds to try and score five runs to force extra innings and keep their playoff hopes alive. Preston got his second home run of the game, and
Emilio Acosta smacked a two-run shot right after to provide some life for Assumption; however, the rally came up short.

Christopher Rabias had RBI singles. The Yellow Jackets closed the gap, scoring one run in each of the first and the third inning, making 3-2 Greyhounds.
Jack Barry extended the Hounds' advantage with a three-run shot in the top of the fourth, but that was responded by a three-run bottom of the frame by AIC. American International continued their momentum in the fifth, scoring four times to go up 9-6.
The Greyhounds would not go quietly, as they got within one in the top of the sixth, thanks to an RBI double off the bat of Acosta and an RBI single from Rabias.
Eric Giarnese tied the game at 9-9 in the top of the seventh as he hit a solo homerun to centerfield. AIC added two runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull away for an 11-9 decision.
