HOOKSETT, N.H. – The Assumption University men's outdoor track and field team sits in fourth place after the first day of the 2023 Northeast-10 Conference Championships at Southern New Hampshire University, while the women's side sits seventh.
DAY ONE RESULTS
Final
In the field events,
Madison Lupino finished second in the women's hammer with a distance of 48.35m (163'8").
Olivia Johnson grabbed ninth in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.02 m (16' 5.75"), with
Hailey Parrotti coming in 15th at 4.75m (15'7").
Abby Camelio came fifth in the women's javelin with a 33.17m long throw (108' 10").
The Greyhounds had three top-eight finishers in the men's javelin, as
Anthony Farago took third (51.98m | 170' 6"),
Zachary Carey came in seventh (51.27m | 168' 2"), and
Noah Laren finished eighth (49.80m | 163' 4").
In the men's 10,000m,
Claudio Rocha finished second with a time of 31:44.12, while
Joseph Carroll took four with his time of 31:51.53.
Jackson Terenzi finished tenth (33:22.27). In the 4x800m relays, the women's quartet of
Lilit Kevorkian,
Leah Plummer,
Cassidy Elliot, and
Liz Letizio finished seventh with a time of 10:39.82. The men's 4x800m finished fifth as the grouping of
Charles Driscoll,
Davis Preston,
Aaron Pelletier, and
Anthony Farago tripped the timer at 8:10.04.
Preliminaries
In the men's 100m,
Anthony Spignese qualified for the finals with a time of 11.09.
Joseph Santos took 2nd in the men's 110 hurdles preliminaries with a time of 14.30. Coming in 8th in the women's 400m,
Camille Lopez just made the cut to qualify with a time of 1:00.68. Not to anyone's surprise,
Tre'Sean Bouie came first in the men's 400m with a time of 47.33. George Dixon and
Eli Harmon also both qualified with times of 50.00 and 50.84. In the women's 800, Peri Snow came third with a time of 2:16.43 and Michaela Namiotka came sixth with a time of 2:22.06. On the men's side for the same race,
Colby Medeiros finished in sixth with a time of 1:56.65. In the men's 200m, Bouie claimed second with a time of 21.62. Spigness was fifth at 22.09, and Dixon and
Dante Echeandia came 7th and 8th with times of 22.09 and 22.28.
In the women's Heptathlon,
Caitlyn Rooney is at 537 points through four events, and
Audrey Strmiska is sitting at 347 points.
Noah Laren is in ninth place in the men's decathlon with 964 points after five events.
