HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hounds got on the front foot early in this one, stringing together some decent passes while working through the Griffins' midfield. However, Assumption could not get anything close enough to the goal to threaten a chance. 20:28 into the game, the Hounds finally got on the board, with a Katherine Laboissonniere free kick reaching Chelsea Hoey, who brushed it home. Less than ten minutes later, the Hounds would strike again, with Kate Carleson looping a long shot from the right side over the keeper and in. Wendy Jacobi provided the assist for Carleson's second straight game with a goal. At the break, Assumption held a 2-0 lead.
The second half saw both sides battling for possession and putting together good chances, but nothing could find the back of the net. Eventually, about 18 minutes into the half, Haley Brown would put one top left corner off of a Tessa Azzinaro assist, putting Assumption up 3-0. There would be no more action following this goal, as the Hounds would pick up a 3-0 win at home against the Griffins.
