BURLINGTON, VT. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team scored two third-period goals to rally and earn a tie at Saint Michael's College, 2-2, in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action Saturday afternoon.

Records: Greyhounds (8-18-2, 8-12-2 NEWHA), Purple Knights (0-27-1, 0-21-1 NEWHA)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption came out on the attack in the first period, as they outshot Saint Michael's 17-9, while winning 13 of 21 faceoffs. Despite the controlling period, the game would remain scoreless through 20 minutes.
The Purple Knights would be the first team to score, as Grace Canterbury found the back of the net on the powerplay at the 2:13 marker. The Greyhounds would not slow down their offense by any means, as they continued to outshoot the hosts 19-8 and won 16 of 23 faceoffs.
The hosts would double their lead once again on the powerplay, as they scored at the 6:23 marker. Assumption would not go quietly, as
Molly Walsh put the Greyhounds on the board at 11:19 of the third period. With five minutes left in regulation,
Alexa Hanrahan tied the game for the visitors with her third goal of the weekend, with
Jenna Chaplain getting the helper. Neither team would find the back of the net in the remainder of regulation, as the two teams would go to overtime.

- Jadyn Weiser recorded 28 saves for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Saint Michael's 60-30, while winning 44-of-75 faceoffs.
- The Purple Knights went 2-for-7 on the powerplay, while the Greyhounds went scoreless in six attempts.
