SPARKILL, N.Y. – The No. 6 Assumption University field hockey team struck for three goals in the second half, pushing their winning streak to 11 games following a 3-1 Northeast-10 Conference win at St. Thomas Aquinas College Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first half, where Assumption outshot St. Thomas Aquinas 10-1, the Greyhounds got on the board early in the third when
Julia Carbone scored off the feed by
Elle Murray. Murray found
Caroline McSweeney three minutes later, who put the Hounds up 2-0. Carbone struck again with under 90 seconds remaining in the third quarter, extending the lead to 3-0.
The Spartans avoided the shutout with three seconds left in regulation when Gianna Sacco beat the Assumption back line.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Paige Gillette made one stop for her 13th win of the year.
- The Greyhounds outshot the Spartans 16-6 and had 14 penalty corners compared to five for the hosts.
