Men's Soccer Plays to a 0-0 Tie against Bentley on Senior Day

WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University men's soccer team played to a 0-0 non-conference tie against Bentley University on Wednesday evening on Normand R. Marois Field. 

THE BASICS:
Score: Assumption University 0, Bentley University 0
Records: Greyhounds (3-8-3, 0-6-1 NE10), Falcons (7-4-3, 4-3-0 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the first half, Assumption saw most of the chances, as they outshot Bentley 8-4, but neither side found the back of the net. Jorgo Karamelo had the best scoring opportunity, as he had a free kick right outside the penalty box, but Cam Hall made the save for the Falcons. Bentley increased the pressure in the second half, as they had the first seven shots of the frame. The Greyhounds had their chances to get on the board in the final five minutes of the game, but they could not break through and score. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 
  • Sebastian Podgorny recorded five saves for his first career shutout. 
  • Before the game, the Athletic Department honored the three seniors on the men's soccer team: Brady Devos, William Rakkenes, and Ole Frigstad
  • The Falcons played most of the game down a man, as Logan Veloria was given a red card in the second minute of action following a hard tackle. 
  • Bentley now leads the all-time series 31-14-2.
