WORCESTER, Mass.—
Elle Murray scored a pair of goals, while
Paige Gillette recorded 21 saves, but the Assumption University field hockey team fell to Saint Anselm College in the NCAA Division II First Round Saturday evening at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first quarter, where there were three combined shots, Ell Murray put Assumption on the board off of a penalty corner feed from
Daisy Stone at 2:18 into the second quarter. The game would head into halftime, with the Greyhounds up 1-0, but early into the third quarter, Murray struck again, as she converted on a penalty stroke, putting the hosts up 2-0. With their backs against the wall, Saint Anselm fired 14 shots in the third quarter, which was capped off by Amanda Lewandowski, putting the Hawks on the board with 1:07 left in the third. The seven-seeded Saint Anselm continued their offensive push into the fourth quarter and eventually tied the game in the early portion of the frame.
After a scoreless first overtime, Millie Forester sent the Hawks to South Carolina with her goal in the 73
rd minute.
BY THE NUMBERS:
- Paige Gillette recorded a season-high 21 saves for the Greyhounds.
- Saint Anselm outshot Assumption 27-13, with nine penalty corners to just four for the Hounds.
- In four playoff games, Elle Murray totaled six goals and one assist.
- Saint Anselm tied the all-time series, 20-20.
