GARDEN CITY, N.Y.—The Assumption University men's basketball team moved to 2-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action following a 76-60 win at Adelphi University on Saturday afternoon.

Records: Greyhounds (2-2, 2-0 NE10), Panthers (2-2, 0-1 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the first half, the two teams traded buckets, with neither side gaining much of a lead, with Adelphi maintaining the largest lead of six points (28-22) with 1:36 remaining in the half. The Greyhounds would close out the opening 20 minutes strong, as they closed it on a 5-0 run with
Baril Mawo throwing down a dunk and Leonard Tangishaka hitting from long range, cutting the deficit to one point (28-27) at the break.
The Panthers opened the second half on a 7-1 lead to push their lead by seven points (35-28) five minutes in. Mawo and the rest of the Greyhounds responded as they went on a 23-8 run, with Mawo recording nine points to take a 51-43 advantage with 8:47 left in regulation. The hosts would attempt to close the gap, but Assumption had a late push to pull away down the stretch for a 76-60 road win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Baril Mawo led all scorers with 19 points while adding 18 rebounds, while Kyle Hicks and Noah Payne each poured in 15 points.
- The Greyhounds dominated the paint, outscoring the Panthers 52-18.
- Adelphi now leads the all-time series 13-11.
