WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University men's basketball used a second-half surge to rally past the University of New Haven Tuesday evening in Laska Gymnasium, as the Greyhounds downed the Chargers 69-59 in Northeast-10 Conference action. 
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
In the first half, New Haven controlled the action, shooting 42.9 percent from the floor. However, Assumption stayed in the game, controlling the glass and outrebounded the opposition 20-15. After 20 minutes, the Chargers maintained a 31-23 advantage. 
 
The game flipped in the second half, as the Greyhounds used lockdown defense and started hitting their shots. In a matter of five minutes, they turned a ten-point margin into a three-point advantage, led by 
Daouda Dembele and 
Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton with four points apiece. Assumption ratcheted up the defensive pressure, holding the Chargers to 1-of-15 from deep in the second half and holding the opposition to 33.3 percent from the field. 
 
After 
Myles Alcindor tied the game with a three-pointer with 12:41 left in regulation, the Hounds went on a 31-18 run, as the shot 11-of-20 from the floor with zero turnovers while also holding UNH to 7-for-21 down the stretch to the final buzzer. 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
	- Tayshawn Cunningham-Pemberton led the way with his first collegiate double-double, 12 points, and 10 rebounds. 
- Noah Payne scored ten points off the bench with four assists and two rebounds. 
- Assumption outrebounded New Haven 46-33 while outscoring the opposition 14-4 on second-chance points. 
- New Haven leads the all-time series 15-10.
