HOW IT HAPPENED:
Post was the first team to get on the board, as Aidan Canady found the back of the net at the 14:30 mark of the first period. After the Eagles added another goal in the opening minute of the second period,
Jake Lavoie got Assumption on the board at 5:39, as
Leo Piandes and
Ronny Paragallo had some strong play below the goal line. The hosts regained a two-goal advantage late in the middle frame as Connor Murray found the back of the cage.
Jake DiNapoli opened the third period, as he cut the deficit to 3-2 and redirected the shot from the point from
Patrick McKiernan. After another goal by Post, Lavoie struck again at the 13:13 mark, scoring 4-3 in favor of the Eagles. Down a goal and just under two minutes remaining in regulation, the Greyhounds pulled their goalie, but Post would hold the Hounds at bay and would pot an empty net goal with seven seconds remaining in regulation.
